Dawsonville, Georgia — Breaking: Stolen vehicle pursuit ends in crash
Earlier Tuesday morning, Sept. 15, a Dawson County Crime Suppression Unit deputy attempted a traffic stop on GA 400 northbound. The driver, identified as Hassan Bey of Atlanta, fled. During the pursuit, the vehicle was determined to be stolen.
What happened (per Dawson County SO / GSP / local reports):
- Pursuit traveled north into Lumpkin County, then back south through Dawson County.
- Georgia State Patrol took the lead and continued into Forsyth County.
- Bey crashed into a dump truck (GA 400 / Hubbard Town Road area, per reporting).
- Taken into custody without further incident; hospital for minor injuries; booked into Dawson County Detention Center.
- Dawson County SO thanked GSP and highlighted proactive patrol.
Forsyth News later reported Bey faces multiple charges stemming from the tri-county chase. An arrest is not a finding of guilt. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
